The Pain Management Physiotherapy Lead/Specialist Physiotherapist, will work closely with the broader Outpatient Rehabilitation Therapy Team and local consultant led Pain Management team to deliver a high quality Pain Management Physiotherapy Service.
The post holder will be an expert in their speciality, performing highly advanced clinical assessment, management and treatment of patients with persistent pain with diverse presentations and complex physical conditions. They will be a source of expertise in this area for other practitioners to draw upon providing education and training for staff and patients.
Main duties of the job
They will work with the consultant led Pain Management Team, Integrated Care Boards (ICB’s) and local trusts to understand services provided, the transformation agenda and additional workforce training needs. They will then need to progress the transformation, with a view to identifying and implementing improvements to education and training across the workforce
They will undertake a leading role in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service provided to patients with persistent pain on a day-to-day basis, and work closely with and support other physiotherapy teams working with persistent pain conditions throughout the Trust and across BSW

Experience
Essential
- Significant post qualification experience in Pain Management Physiotherapy.
- High standard of knowledge of evidence based practice
- Current working knowledge of the NHS, understanding the role of physiotherapy within the current evolving health environment
- Evidence of having developed new initiatives, including multi- professional working
- Previous experience, and understanding of audit
- Experience of teaching within own area of expertise
Desirable
- Previous experience as a clinical specialist (or equivalent) in a hospital environment
- Experience of research methodology
Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma / Degree in physiotherapy
- HPC registration
- Specialist training and development or equivalent experience in physiotherapy for Pain Management
- To have, or be working towards, a post graduate qualification e.g. diploma, MSc, PGCert
Desirable
- Membership of CSP
- Relevant training, qualification, or experience in leadership
- Project Management qualification or relevant experience
