Job overview
To support with the Patient Pathway Manager and Directorate Senior Management Team (Clinical Director, Directorate Manager) in the efficient and effective operational management of the Paediatric GP Liaison MDT Service.
The MDT coordinator will provide non-clinical administrative and organisational support and expert knowledge to facilitate the MDT service. The MDT coordinator will work closely with the lead consultant, GP PCN’s and CAHMs to implement a roll-out of this service across Berkshire West.
The post holder assists with the delivery of daily operational business of the designated service area as well as contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans.
The MDT coordinator will oversee administrative and clerical processes to enable a high quality, effective, patient focused service to be delivered. The post holder will ensure that standard operating procedures are followed, to help ensure the achievement of all performance targets. In the absence of the Patient Pathway Manager, the MDT coordinator will be responsible for providing regular updates on performance and escalation of issues which hinder the smooth delivery of the MDT’s to the Directorate Manager.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual to join the Paediatric department as a MDT Coordinator.
This role will support the development and rollout of the Paediatic MDT Service across 17 Berkshire West PCN's. The post holder will develop and oversee the MDT's, working closley with the Lead Consultant. They will complete all administrative activities relating to the MDT's and will provide reassurance to the Directorate team utilising all available data.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To be the administrative first point of contact for all PCN’s involved in the Paediatric GP Liaison MDT’s, ensuring that all matters are handled in a manner that enhances the reputation of the Trust.
- To provide administrative support to the Paediatric Clinical Lead for the Paediatric GP Liaison MDT’s.
- To manage consultant’s diaries, making decisions on when MDT’s will be held.
- Develop a network of key relationships both within and outside of the Trust in order to facilitate the service.
- Lead and coordinate specialist MDT meetings.
- Co-chair the MDT meetings alongside the clinical leads and consultants.
- Ensure all referrals are received prior to the MDT meetings and that all relevant parties are invited to the MDT’s as required for the patient caseload of each MDT.
- Coordinate with BHFT to ensure CAHM’s involvement
- Audit impact of MDT’s, and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to by all involved in the MDT’s referral process.
