The Paediatric Complex Care team is expanding due to an increase in children being referred to the service. The Complex Care Team support children and their families across NHS Highland in the home environment and wider community.
This is a very rewarding post to enable these children/families to be able to access education, allow parents to have a restful sleep overnight knowing their child is being cared for to a high standard. The post holder will be joining a team to support the children within the service. The post holder will accompany the child and/or family during school/nursery, hospital appointments/admissions, outings and respite etc during their shift.
Experience of working with Children and/or community care experience is essential to this role.
Training and support will be provided to achieve various tasks and skills with assessed competency. Training takes approximately 8 weeks. Following training and assessment, competencies are achieved the post holder will lone work with the child/family with direct responsibility for the child’s healthcare needs. The post holder will work within a set of guidelines and protocols and under the remit of devised competency structures with support and assessment from the team leader.
This post holder is expected to be flexible and work a variety of day, evening, weekend and night shifts does include shifts and is a 24/7 service.
Children at present live within various locations throughout NHS Highland and travel is an essential part of the role. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and accommodation provided for stays.
