This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Hull Community Team and play a key role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey within community mental health services.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support service users to achieve their recovery goals, promote independence, and enhance wellbeing within their local communities. The role involves delivering recovery-focused interventions that help individuals develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to improve their quality of life.
With appropriate supervision and support, the post holder will:
- Plan and deliver person-centred interventions and therapeutic activities that support identified recovery goals.
- Implement and evaluate evidence-based interventions that promote wellbeing, independence, and community participation.
- Support individuals to develop daily living skills, social networks, confidence, and opportunities for education, employment, volunteering, and meaningful occupation.
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused care.
You will be a valued member of the Hull Community Team, contributing to coordinated care that meets individual needs and supports recovery in the least restrictive environment.
Main duties of the job
£750 Refer a Friend Scheme – Know someone who would be a great addition to our team? Hull CMHT is eligible for the referrer and successful candidate can receive a £750 payment (terms and conditions apply).

The successful candidate will support people with mental ill health in the community, working independently and within a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of registered professionals. They will promote recovery through meaningful activity, community engagement, education, employment, and vocational opportunities. The role includes contributing to assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of person-centred, evidence-based interventions that promote recovery, independence, wellbeing, and inclusion, while complying with Trust policies, CQC standards, and legislation. Strong communication, partnership working, and a compassionate, values-based approach are essential. The Hull Community Team offers excellent supervision, training, and development opportunities.

Knowledge
Essential
- Awareness of clinical risk issues relevant to mental health, setting and general health and safety issues within workplace
Desirable
- Knowledge of role of Assistant Practitioners and NHSE Support worker framework
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary or multiprofessional working within therapy teams or wider context
Experience
Essential
- Experience of facilitating individual or small group teaching/coaching/development/therapy in a workshop setting
- Evidence of promoting/supporting active service user/carer involvement and participation
- Experience of developing learning plans/support plans based on a review of individual learning needs
Desirable
- Experience of working with adults with mental illness or learning disabilities or personality disorder
- Experience of working within a forensic or secure environment/setting
Qualifications
Essential
- Relevant qualification (for example Level 3 City and Guilds) and/or demonstratable working experience in construction and the build environment (joinery, carpentry, plastering, bricklaying, DIY etc)
- Relevant teaching qualification or demonstrable experience teaching or coaching in relevant work area
- Evidence of continued professional development in relevant working area
Desirable
- Relevant qualification (Level 4 or Level 5 qualification) relevant to undertaking role
