Main duties of the job

As a Specialist Oral Surgeon, you will assess, manage and treat patients referred for oral surgery procedures, working in accordance with established clinical protocols and governance standards. You'll provide treatment under local anaesthetic and IV sedation and work closely with colleagues to ensure outstanding patient outcomes. The role is full-time, based on 40 hours per week, with a commitment to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota. Flexible working arrangements will be considered where service needs allow.

  • Delivering specialist oral surgery treatments to referred patients.
  • Providing treatment under local anaesthetic and IV sedation.
  • Participating in outpatient assessment clinics and operative care.
  • Working collaboratively with consultants, RMOs and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation.
  • Contributing to audit, research and clinical governance activities.
  • Supporting continuous service improvement and departmental development.
  • Participating in clinical governance meetings, appraisal and revalidation processes.

About us

  • Full GDC registration and Specialist Registration in Oral Surgery.
  • Relevant CCT or recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Proven expertise across the full scope of oral surgery practice.
  • Training and experience in conscious sedation.
