Main duties of the job

Barchester Healthcare is seeking an Operational Trainer to join their team. This role involves providing induction and development training to staff across four care homes in regions including Witney, Chipping Norton, and Jersey. Every six weeks, the trainer is expected to travel to Jersey for four days to conduct training, with travel and accommodation costs covered. Trainers are integral in maintaining high standards of care and ensuring staff competence. This home-based role involves regional travel and collaboration with home managers to support staff development. Applicants should hold a C&G 7300 or equivalent, a Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care or relevant experience, and have a working knowledge of care sector legislation. A full UK driving license and flexibility to travel are essential. Core responsibilities include coordinating and delivering training, maintaining training records, and promoting learning opportunities. The position offers a salary of £34,000 per annum with a £6,000 car allowance.

NEED TO HAVE C&G 7300 (or equivalent) Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care or experience of working in social care sector Working knowledge of legislative requirements in care sector 2 years training experience Full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel

NEED TO DO Coordination and delivery of induction and development training against Barchester objectives and training statistics Provide practical, hands on training across a variety of subjects Plan and publish training calendars Ensure employee training files are up to date Observe workplace practice Arrange induction paperwork and a buddy in advance of a new employee starting Maintain regular contact with new team members, coaching and supporting where appropriate Attend meetings and conferences external to the home where required Promote learning and development opportunities that Barchester offer Work with Home Managers to ensure the implementation of individual personal development plans
