Job overview

We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapy Support Worker in our adult community mental health teams in the Mid of the County. We welcome applicants with a range of experiences and transferrable skills that would enhance the health and well-being of our service users in the broadest sense.

This job is currently only open to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. We are committed to supporting our dedicated staff, so only current employees of the following organisations can apply:

  • Cornwall Foundation Trust
  • Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
  • Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board

If you do not currently work for one of these NHS organisations, your application will not be considered at this time.

Main duties of the job

You will have excellent communication skills and be focused on delivering patient-centred care, working with the individual to explore their strengths and the things they can do to increase their wellbeing and quality of life.

We are looking for someone with the ability to work creatively, to build a strong rapport with people, and who is passionate to utilise activity to improve recovery outcomes for people with severe and enduring mental illness.

You will be a highly valued member of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team. Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapists, you will implement specific 1:1 interventions and deliver therapeutic groups to aid mental health recovery.

Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering environment steeped in a caring, culture of acceptance, curiosity and empathy.

We are dedicated to building a compassionate workplace where quality improvement to the services we provide is at the heart of everything we do.
