Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment for a mixed gender 26 bed acute ward

Complete functional and cognitive assessments.

Support patients when experiencing significant mental distress.

Develop person centred safety plans.

Work with other OT staff and Technical Instructors to provide meaningful activity schedules based on reducing distress and enhancing positive experiences.

Attend regular clinical meetings and contribute to discussions and decisions around safety, functional skill and discharge planning.

Main duties of the job

To complete Occupational Therapy assessments and develop associated care plans and intervention plans

To provide Occupational Therapy interventions such as psycho education, practical functional skills, ADLs and PADLs and creative sessions.

Undertake home visit assessments and contribute to the discharge planning process.

Attend clinical MDT meetings and contribute to clinical decision making.
