Job overview

We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, wishing to take their next steps on the career ladder and looking for a new challenge.

You need to be proactive and enthusiastic and wanting to work within the Elderly Medical Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The post holder will work as part of an integrated team as an autonomous practitioner to provide a high standard of intervention across the specialities.

Our integrated team is committed to providing highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients within the elderly and frailty settings. You will be required to work alongside your colleagues as an independent practitioner in applying a high level of clinical reasoning to ensure individualised, proactive and holistic assessment and treatment planning.

Main duties of the job

As a member of both the integrated rehabilitation service and the multidisciplinary teams on the wards, excellent skills in communication are essential.

As a Band 6 therapist you will be supporting and developing rotational Band 5 Occupational Therapists.  The role also involves supervising unregistered staff and educating Occupational Therapy students on placement.

There will be opportunities for innovation and an expectation that you will be actively involved in relevant quality improvement projects to develop the team.

The integrated Rehabilitation Service aims to provide a progressive, forward-thinking approach to patient care whilst able to support its staff in personal development and continued education and training.
