Service Line: Mental Health Adults (Female Acute services)
Cygnet Woking/ Woking Lodge is a 94 bedded hospital with a variety of different wards, including two locked rehab wards (male), two low secure services (male and female), three acute wards (male and two female), and a PICU (female).
We have a designated qualified OT on each ward, with OTAs supporting across the service, as Activity Coordinators supporting the activities around the hospital.
Our environment has a holistic focus and includes a gym, ADL kitchen, Recovery College, Hair Salon, library, Tuck-shop and other therapeutic spaces.
Main duties of the job
Within this role, you will provide assessment and treatment of occupational needs on the female acute ward (Kahlo) under the supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist.
You may hold supervisory responsibility for others, and will be expected to take a leadership role in specific projects. An integral part of this role will be supporting student education within the team.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with Psychology, Psychiatry, Nurses, mental health support workers and ward admin staff.
As a member of the OT team, you will be supported and work alongside qualified OTs, OTAs and activity coordinators.

Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction:
We understand the pandemic has brought with it challenging times, and we recognise this may have had an impact on some of your placement experiences. We offer an Occupational Therapy 12 month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy Skills.
