Main duties of the job
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will join Emerald Place Clinic to work with individuals with various mental health conditions. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will engage in structured activities and help plan therapeutic interventions. This role requires building rapport with service users to foster recovery and participation. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to assessing, monitoring, and adapting activities to ensure effectiveness. You will work under a shift pattern of 37.5 weekly hours with access to career training and development. Key responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and evaluation of care plans and maintaining healthcare records accurately.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will be:
- Assisting Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
- Supporting service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
- Maintaining adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
- Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
- Verbal and written communication skills

Location: Emerald Place Clinic, Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Horley, RH6 0BN
Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18. Young people who are admitted to the unit will have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.
These could include mental health conditions such as mood disorders and acute psychosis. Additionally young people may have co-existing additional needs such as neurodevelopmental disorders, including mild learning disabilities or autism. A young person could also be admitted if they have disordered eating.
