Are you a qualified Nursing Associate looking for a supportive team and opportunities to develop new skills? This is an exciting time to join the community nursing service in West Hertfordshire.
We are currently recruiting a Band 4 Nursing Associate to join our community nursing teams in the Watford area. This is a part time role – 30 hours per week.
We are developing new community pathways to help deliver more care in people’s homes & to enable us to do this we have a range of new learning and development opportunities available through the CLCH Academy.
In this role, you will be supported to develop & achieve competencies to deliver individualised care to patients with a variety of health needs in our communities.
You will work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, contributing to safe, compassionate, and effective care. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to respond thoughtfully in different situations, and a commitment to treating patients with dignity and empathy.

Main duties of the job
Applicants should hold a relevant Nursing Associate qualification. Previous experience in a community setting would be beneficial but is not essential.

As this is a home visiting service, the ability to travel between locations is required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential for this role, unless reasonable adjustments apply in line with the Equality Act 2010.
In this role, you will work closely with patients, the community nursing team, GP practices, and wider multidisciplinary teams.
You will be supported by Professional Development Nurses and your Team Leader to develop the competencies required for your role. We also have a strong track record of supporting Registered Nursing Associates to complete the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship Programme. We ask that all team members demonstrate behaviours aligned with CLCH values.
The role includes participation in a weekend rota, typically working three weekend days within a four-week roster cycle.

- Registered Nursing Associate with current UK NMC registration
- Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice
- GCSEs Grade 9 - 4 in Maths and English or equivalent

- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development
- Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within the Code
- Relevant clinical skills in the area of work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, non- verbal communication) with patients/relatives, carers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues.
- Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
- Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice when needed
