We have a vacancy for a part time Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional to join the Undergraduate Medical Education team as a Teaching Fellow.

The post holder will work alongside the current teaching team to plan, organise and deliver the curriculum to the Newcastle University Medical Students. Medical Education requires committed and interested staff to enable students to make the most of the teaching opportunities available. There are opportunities to build on the existing curriculum to develop innovative and novel teaching approaches.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include planning, delivery and evaluation of the Newcastle University Undergraduate Curriculum for Medical Students. The post holder should be able to work as an effective member of the team with the Clinical Nurse Lecturer and Teaching Fellows. The role involves being able to take a lead in teaching and learning activities, ensuring effective time management and having great organisational skills. Prior clinical knowledge and experience is essential as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.

The post holder will have core specialist skills in one or more of Medicine and Surgery and will act as both an autonomous practitioner and a source of expertise in these areas with students, colleagues and patients. Actively integrating theory and practice, they will ensure operational delivery of the curriculum within the STSFT medical education faculty, to ensure all teaching areas are fulfilled.
