Job overview

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust provides acute hospital care to the local population. An opportunity has arisen at Royal Lancaster Infirmary for a Non-Clinical Support Worker on the Acute Medical Unit.

Main duties of the job

You will work in conjunction with all staff in order to maintain a clean and safe environment and ensure housekeeping jobs are completed in a satisfactory manner.

  • To co-ordinate all patient facilities services within the ward area
  • Ordering of supplies for the ward and maintaining stores
  • To ensure that the ward is a safe, clean, tidy and comfortable environment
  • Ensure that food and drinks are available to meet the patients’ needs throughout the day
  • Assist the ward staff to receive, welcome and guide patients and visitors onto the ward
  • Assist in daily bed making
  • Assist in the preparation of bed areas on transfer and discharge of patients
  • Ensure all patients are afforded privacy and dignity throughout their stay
  • Ensure that there is an adequate linen supply throughout the day
