Job overview
During your induction you will work supernumerary with a mentor supporting you, while working through an educational pathway (Journey of Excellence - JOE) We have a purpose built unit consisting of 8 ITU cots, 10 HDU cots and 12 SC cots. The nursing establishment for the Service complies with BAPM standards regarding staffing which is 1:1 nursing for ITU babies, 1:2 for HDU babies and 1:4 for SC babies. We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 6 nurses with a flexible approach to work who are able to work the full nursing rota. This includes 12 hour shift patterns of days, nights and weekends.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job

Registered midwives will be expected to uphold their intention to practice in their own time.
We are committed to staff development and our team of practice development facilitators will support your education needs and personal development. Applicants are invited from suitably qualified neonatal nurses - Neonatal Modules 1 and 2, ENB 405 or equivalent with sufficient experience at Band 5. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for this post.
