The National Ultrasound Training Programme was launched in November 2022 to expand Scotland’s ultrasound training capacity and support service recovery following COVID. In just over three years, the programme has exceeded its original aims, strengthening workforce capacity and supporting the delivery of additional patient scans across Scotland.
Based at NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, a dynamic national team of expert sonographers delivers the programme. It provides high quality education and clinical training for general medical sonographers, allied health professionals, nurses, and doctors from multiple disciplines.
We are seeking a clinically excellent senior sonographer to provide strategic, clinical, and educational leadership for this nationally significant programme. The successful candidate will be educated to Masters level and will demonstrate strong experience in teaching, training, and clinical leadership, with a clear understanding of the national ultrasound and sonography landscape.
Applicants must hold a Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE) accredited Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound. Health and Care Professions Council registration as a Radiographer, or eligibility for registration, is essential.
