An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership Adult Physiotherapy Service for a Physiotherapist looking to specialize within Musculoskeletal services.

We are looking for a full time permanent Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Musculoskeletal rotations which rotate on a 6 monthly basis across our South and Vale Royal Clinics. These include a variety of Primary Care settings and also offers the opportunity to gain essential acute experience at Leighton Hospital Outpatients Department .The Primary care sites are Sandbach ,Alsager ,Middlewich,Winsford and Nantwich where you will work as part of the Musculoskeletal service in community clinics and GP practices.

This position focuses on Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic rehabilitation of GP and Consultant referrals.  We can offer you the opportunity to work with a range of experienced senior physiotherapists who will support your Continuous Professional Development.  There is the opportunity to attend in-service training and peer review sessions.

You will have current HCPC registration, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or be able to demonstrate means of meeting the travel requirements of the post. Main duties of the job

• To contribute to the day to day running of the MSK department, showing responsibility and accountability for the operational delivery of the service.

• To autonomously, competently and effectively manage a MSK caseload. Demonstrating a good awareness of scope of practice and when to seek help.

• To respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients, contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

• To utilise effective communication skills to ensure clinical advice and treatment programmes are delivered sensitively, taking into consideration the needs of carers.

• To recognise indications and contraindications to treatment modalities, effectively gaining full informed consent for treatment. Demonstrating understanding of legal implications of gaining informed consent and when to seek help or escalate.

• Understand and act to minimise barriers to treatment such as cognitive impairment, hearing, visual or speech impairment. Demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate and document.

• To act within the jurisdiction of the Mental Capacity Act.

• To undertake clinical assessment, considering all relevant information and clinical reasoning to formulate evidence based individualised treatment plans in agreement with the patient.

• To implement individual and/or group interventions for patients.

• To monitor progress and review treatment plans and interventions to facilitate the achievement of patient centred goals within a timely manner.

• To provide appropriate verbal and written information for patients and carers where relevant.

• To develop and maintain good working relationships, demonstrating a high level of professionalism.

• Work effectively with other healthcare professions, social care and other appropriate agencies, to ensure integrated and high-quality patient outcomes.

• To maintain accurate, complete clinical documentation within a timely manner, in line with professional standards, local policies and procedures. In the event of mitigating circumstances, it is the individual's responsibility to highlight this to the relevant MSK Physiotherapy Manager.

• To follow CCICP peer review policy when considering referral onwards to other agencies or referral back to target. Adhering to emergency care pathways with appropriate communication and documentation.

• To participate in CCICP MSK audits as required.

• To ensure the safe and timely discharge of patients, liaising with other agencies as required.

• Ensure EMIS caseloads are effectively managed, discharging in a timely manner. Participating in EMIS mentorship to ensure effective management of patients care.

• To be responsible for safe and competent use of equipment including the provision of support, education and training to other staff, patients and carers as required.

• To contribute to departmental clinical audit

• Participates in the development, maintenance and delivery of best practice guidelines, led by special interest groups and enhanced practitioners.

• To provide mentorship, teaching and education to students and assistants within CCICP MSK Physiotherapy services.
