The post holder will provide comprehensive operational support across Hotel Services, the post holder is required to undertake portering, transport, catering, domestic and linen duties as directed via the Hotel Services Supervisor in accordance with specification standards and Health & Safety legislation and is guided by standard operating procedures. The main duties focus upon Portering / Catering, including working in chilled & freezer units / Linen, Domestic & Transport duties.
Main duties of the job
Provide comprehensive operational support across support services including portering, domestic and linen duties.
Undertake catering duties in compliance with food safety legislation.
Undertake transport duties, deliver clean and the collect used and contaminated linen to and from wards / clinical areas, transferring the used / dirty to designated areas, which involves frequent exposure to unpleasant conditions.
Collection of refuse across health board premises and transfer to designated areas. Clear litter and sweep outside areas as directed. Collect and deliver patient and staff meals three times daily as required.
Perform Catering, Domestic & Linen duties as required in order to ensure Hotel Services provision across the Health Board is cost effective and efficient, representing value for money.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge

- NVQ Level 2 (Catering/Customer Services/Cleaning) or Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Or Undertake a period of Induction to include Basic Food Hygiene COSH Manual handling
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation as related to Domestic/Catering /Linen Services e.g. Food Hygiene, COSHH regulations
- Able to work on own or as part of a team
Desirable
- Knowledge of Manual Handling principles & techniques
- Understanding of cleaning methods, chemicals and equipment
- Understanding of Linen Services processes and procedures
