North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to recruit a suitably experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson – Mechanical, to join our estates department.
The post holder should posses plumbing skills and knowledge and work as part of the estates team to deliver a comprehensive estates maintenance service, ensuring compliance with Trust standards, procedures, and legislation across the estate portfolio.

Main duties of the job
To undertake reactive and planned maintenance, service, test and inspection of complex engineering plant and equipment, plumbing works including drainage and sewerage systems, heating and ventilation, water systems and other mechanical systems, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard and in compliance with statutory regulations.
You will work alongside other trades to deliver a quality service using CAFM and other specialist software systems. You will join our out-of-hours on call service for which you will receive additional payments. The post will be based at Warrington Hospital, but there is expectation for the role to cover all Trust sites where required.

Experience
Essential
- Accredited, apprentice trained and/or extensive experience in a mechanical trade – ideally plumbing
- In depth knowledge and experience of the Health Technical Memoranda, ACOPs, Health and Safety at Work Act and all relevant legislation.
Desirable
- Experience of working in hospital environment.
Qualifications
Essential
- BTEC, ONC, City & Guilds in a Mechanical discipline acquired through an accredited training provider achieved via a recognised apprenticeship
- NVQ Level 4 and / or equivalent experience plus relevant additional training
- Authorised Persons (AP) in one or more Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) with relevant Level 5 qualification signed off by Trust Authorising Engineer
- Evidence of CPD with current legislative training certification updates
- AP status to be maintained through CPD and 3 yearly accreditation
Desirable
- NEBOSH, IOSHH or equivalent
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Essential
- Work in accordance with various Technical Standards
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work without supervision
- Ability to supervise contractors and other Trust staff
- Ability to write formal risk assessments as part of project management reports
- Computer literate
- Ability to complete management reports and financial reports for project management on small projects
