MSK Physiotherapist (Rotational) Band 7 - Fixed Term 12 Months

The MSK Physiotherapy department at Whittington Health is pleased to offer you an exciting opportunity to work with us, a team that values you, your career, and your patients.

Our service is based across seven sites in Islington and Haringey.
The Band 7 rotations are yearly and there are 3 options available: To work in clinical role with a clinical specialism; to have a site lead role with a clinical specialism; or a site lead with management role. Specialities include upper quadrant (including post op shoulders), lower quadrant (including ACL pathways), spinal and acute injury/ortho.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work and develop as an individual and as part of a team, gaining clinical and operational experience in a dynamic environment supported by the Senior MSK team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be expected to:
- Triage electronic referrals regularly.
- Effectively use and ensure that the electronic patient database records reflect your current caseload and activity; with timely discharge and outcome appointments.
- Provide high quality physiotherapy including assessment, treatment and advice to patients with various Neuromusculoskeletal presentations.
- Assess and treat own caseload of patients, and maintain associated records as an autonomous practitioner with support from senior staff when required.
- Communicate with other health professionals, patients and carers with regard to the delivery of patient focused care.
- Participate in departmental continuous professional development, departmental education and training, audit and evidence-based projects.
- Undertake all necessary verbal and written documentation required for patient care.
- Have clinical supervision on a regular basis with senior staff. Supervision can take the form of formal training, clinical reasoning, peer review, case reviews and reflective practise.
- Supervise and appraise juniors and students.
- Provide education, training and supervision to physiotherapists, students and other staff as appropriate.
- Assist in the operation and development of MSK Outpatient Service provision across Whittington Health.

- Able to deputise for team leader / management
Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Good written/spoken English
- Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy leading to HPC registration
Desirable
- Membership of professional groups
- Recent and relevant post-registration training / courses in musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Exp of working in MSK outpatients inc acute, chronic, GP, consultant and self referrals
- Problem solving approach
- Specialised knowledge and experience of working with a wide range of approaches to the clinical reasoning and management of patients with complex pain and movement dysfunction presentations
- Post-registration physiotherapy experience in MSK
Desirable
- musculoskeletal outpatients Orthopaedics Sports injuries, Rheumatology Neuro/Elderly Rehabilitation
- Working in the NHS
- Specialised knowledge of the current management guidelines and evidence in the safe treatment of Musculoskeletal disorders
- Involvement in clinical audit/evaluation projects/service development
