An opportunity has arisen permanent full or part time Band 2 Health Care Support workers within the Medical Directorate at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Morris ward is a 27 bedded acute medical ward which specialises in dementia care. We aim to provide holistic care for all patients and heavily involve relatives and carers throughout their hospital journey.
We are looking for a hardworking compassionate team player to join our friendly ward.
Applicants must have an approachable manner necessary to deal with patients/relatives and desirable experience of a hospital environment, work as part of a team of nurses on the ward and undertake patient fundamentals of nursing care tasks under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered General Nurse responsible for the patient’s management.
Following an agreed level of training, NVQ level 2 & 3 in care, the successful candidate will be required to work internal rotation on the ward. You will have an induction programme arranged for their orientation into the Medical team.
Main duties of the job
The role involves assisting patients to meet their personal care needs, recording observations and completing bedside documentation. Health Care Support Workers are also required to carry out general cleaning in the clinical environment by preparing bed spaces and cleaning equipment.
In each shift, HCA are allocated to provide care for a group of patients. Duties include but are not inclusive to providing personal care; assisting with serving meals and drinks throughout the day; recording observations and accompanying patients for investigations.
