We are seeking enthusiastic midwives, passionate about providing high level care to all the patients accessing our services. Main duties of the job

We are looking for midwives to join our hospital team at Hastings.  You will have the opportunity to work within a variety of settings to provide women/birthing people with holistic and individualised care. Our consultant led unit at Conquest Hospital is based on the Hastings site.

We are a tight knit team working closely together to provide women/birthing people and their families with high quality, evidence based midwifery care. You will need to be a highly motivated team player, committed to drive forward an innovative service with the existing team.  Midwives with a commitment to provide safe, cohesive and collaborative working is essential. We offer an excellent induction programme for all and full preceptorship programme for newly qualified midwives and a friendly, supportive and highly driven team to develop with for all experienced band 6's. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work confidently and autonomously within the team is essential. You will gain experience in all aspects of midwifery care and will be supported to provide compassionate care.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • 1 years clinical experience including use of cardiotocographs
  • Demonstrate interest in developing midwifery practice.

Desirable

  • Experience of undertaking project work

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered midwife on the NMC register.
  • Evidence of continued professional development to diploma level qualification
  • Ability to undertaken further training

Desirable

  • D32/33 Teaching & Clinical Assessment (formerly ENB 997/998)
  • IT Literate

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Essential

  • Able to carry out full range of midwifery practice including extended skills
  • Work as part of a team
  • Understanding of the new NHS and the opportunities it offers
  • Effective and adaptable interpersonal and organisational skill

Desirable

  • Knowledge of quality, audit, research
  • Understanding of child protection issues
