Medical Secretary/Theatre Scheduler General Surgery

Band 3

37.5 hours per week - Monday Friday - Fixed Term until May 2027 to cover maternity leave

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Medical Secretary/Theatre Scheduler to join our General Surgery team at Rotherham General Hospital. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual. We are looking for someone with the following attributes to join our team:

RSA III /OCR or equivalent experience

Hard working and self-motivated

Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines

Excellent communication skills Computer literate with excellent keyboard skills.

Good team player

Main duties of the job

Responsible to the Administration Manager for the provision of an efficient personal secretarial service to the Consultant Team and supporting staff.

To be responsible for the co-ordination and transcription of audio files to produce clinical letters, reports etc., within acceptable timeframes.

Manage consultant waiting lists and schedule theatres, book pre op assessment and maximise theatre utilisation.
