To be an efficient and flexible member of the Histopathology laboratory team providing a high quality diagnostic service through supporting the scientific and technical activities of qualified members of staff.
To work within the written Policies and Procedures of the Department especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality.
Main duties of the job
To participate in the routine duties of the Histopathology Department, as part of a team, under the direction and supervision of Biomedical Scientists (BMS 1 and above) ensuring compliance with Departmental Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
To rotate through assigned sections of the laboratory as required.

Main duties of this role comprise receipt, sorting, organisation and data entry for a wide variety of diagnostic tissue samples submitted to the Department for investigation and to assist with specimen preparation.
