
Job overview
The maternity support worker role has four key domains: supporting women and families; public health promotion and prevention; creating safe environments and personal and clinical skills. It is expected that at band 3 level the post holder will have knowledge of the main principles and processes in these areas, be able to carry out a wide range of duties with supervision as required and contribute to service development. The purpose of the maternity support worker role is to work as part of the midwifery team providing care of the mother and baby throughout the maternity pathway, under supervision and within agreed guidelines and protocols. To actively partake in meeting the needs of parents, thus enhancing the delivery of care in accordance with the ambition set out in Better Births for safer, more personalised care. As a Level 3 MSW you will serve as a point of contact and support for women and families to provide clinical, physical, psychological and emotional care and support; provide appropriate information and, where necessary, signpost to wider support organisations
We required MSW's for the Diabetes's Team based in Crawley hospital and ward based within East Surrey Hospital
