
The post holder will enhance and engender a philosophy of care founded on the recognition and promotion of normality within neonatal care. They will provide health education, support, and advice to women, birthing people and their families who are having or have recently birthed a newborn.
They will work in partnership with the woman/birthing person and their family in co-ordinating their newborn’s care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluate health promotion programmes in line with best practice for our families.
Proactively contribute to the support and development new and junior colleagues within the multidisciplinary team regarding immediate neonatal care.
To act as an ambassador in the specialism of low-risk neonatal care.
Following Trust defined training and appropriate competency assessment, undertake clinical observations of the neonate as per NICE guidance and BAPM standards, including:
Work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team including paediatric doctors, neonatal team, midwives, nurses, audiologists, general practitioners, safeguarding services and other relevant agencies.
