Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee the Manual Handling Service, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
  • Bariatric Care Innovation: Continue developing a sustainable Bariatric Service that benefits both the Trust and the wider health community.
  • Operational Excellence: Collaborate with the UHL Bed and Equipment Management Team to optimise patient care and resource utilization.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse and interpret data to produce governance reports, ensuring compliance and informed strategic planning.
  • Training & Development: Design and deliver specialist training programs that empower staff and enhance patient outcomes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

Support and Manage the Manual Handling Advisors and administrative team

Plan and evaluate Moving and Handling Training

Lead and support the bariatric workstream

Support, as required the UHL Bed and equipment contract

Write and present data and reports, as required, to summarise team performance against agreed KPI's

Have oversight of staff referrals all Musculoskeletal disorders

Manage datix incidences related to Musculoskeletal disorders / Moving and handling incidents

Oversee contract tenders for all identified moving and handling related equipment
