We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as a Maintenance Operative at Silvermere Care Home in Cobham. In this role, your responsibility is to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained with routine tasks and checks to services, ensuring facilities are fully functional. Key responsibilities include general maintenance tasks and basic repairs in electrical, plumbing, joinery, and building both inside and outside the home, supporting new residents to arrange their rooms, and advising on the supply of items needed for tasks.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Your focus as a Maintenance Operativewillbetoensurethe building and grounds are wellmaintained, undertaking a variety of routine maintenance tasks, checks to services applying basic fixes to equipment and systemswhilstensuringfacilities are fully functional.
Other responsibilitieswillinclude:
- Carryingout all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs includingall electrical, plumbing joinery and building tasks both inside and outside the Home.
- Supporting new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
- Ensuringroutine re-decoration is undertaken asrequiredtomaintainthe standards in thehome.
- Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
- Providingout of hours emergency service,participatingin the on-call rota.
ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidatemust:
- Have a minimum of one years experience in a general maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a professional qualification in a trade.
- Hold a full driving licence.
- Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
- Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
