An Estates Maintenance Craftsperson plays a key role in the Estates Engineering Maintenance Services. The individual will support the Estates Officers and maintenance team in the delivery of maintenance programmes that will contribute to the Trusts objectives been carried out in a safe, cost effective, efficient manner and compliant with legislation, Health Technical Memorandums (HTM) and good practice.
The post holder will undertake works relating to the maintenance and repairs of Trust properties, equipment, grounds & gardens ensuring compliance with Statutory requirements, HTM’s, Trust Policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe and functional environment for patients, public and staff to support the delivery of patient care.
The post holder will; • Be a member of a small group of technical staff who manage and operate complex technical systems and processes across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust standard operating procedures, policies and procedures and legislation. • Be appointed to named competent roles in keeping with requirements laid down in Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health and Safety documentation. • Support the Team Leader with the implementation of planned, reactive and routine maintenance • Be responsible for the implementation and sign off of documentation along with the responsibility of asset management and technical support for the Estate across all trades according to competence and skill level and allocation from the Team Leader and Estates Managers. • Complete data entry into paper and electronic systems (e.g. the completion of all job dockets, asset management details, time sheets and stock sheets). • Staff based at Goole will be required to cover the “on call“ rota commensurate with the duties detailed within this job description. Staff at all other sites may be required to support during periods of operational pressures to help deliver the estates maintenance and repairs function. • Have a good general education and general experience of engineering trades and will undertake on the job training or other training away from the place of work as dictated by the requirements of the role.
