Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our existing multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team in providing a safe environment for all service users, staff and visitors across our Suffolk & Norfolk sites being based in Ipswich.

Main duties of the job
Duties & Responsibilities associated with this role include but are not limited to:
- Carrying out routine, planned and reactive tasks to ensure our buildings and equipment is safe and fully compliant
- Assisting the members of the maintenance team in all aspects of planned, routine and reactive maintenance across our estate
- Assisting in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of buildings and equipment
- Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation

Person specification
Knowledge
Essential
- Understanding and knowledge of the inter-relationship between the building trades and electrical & mechanical services
- Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations within the Workplace
Experience
Essential
- Minimum two years work experience in a mechanical, electrical or building field having demonstrated versatility & flexibility
- Practical experience of general maintenance
Desirable
- Experience of working in a mental health or secure services hospital environment
Qualifications
Essential
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or building field
