Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Urology Team to cover a maternity leave. This role is ideal for an experienced staff nurse or band 6 role who would like to try out some specialist practice with a high performing and well motivated team.

The practitioner will deliver face to face patient care on a daily basis. They should be knowledgeable in  areas of  urological pathways

The role requires support for the Oncology specialist nurses and clinical staff  looking after patients with suspected cancer or confirmed cancer diagnosis and ongoing support across their cancer journey and treatment decisions.

The job will be based at the Urology Investigation Unit  and on occasion in our community setting at Pendleton Gateway  where clinics are delivered as well. This will be of a high standard.

Staff are responsible for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures. Utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, they will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.

The role is in an outpatient  and diagnostic setting and clinics are done at Salford Care Organisation.

Main duties of the job

This is an interesting and varied role that will provide a good leadership development opportunity for the right candidate. The ideal candidate would have some urological experience and be able to transfer skills into this specialised role caring for urology patients that have received a cancer diagnosis.

You will be a proven team player with post registration renal experience at Band 5. You will bring evidence of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partnership working, and the ability to both influence and embrace change. Well-developed communication skills are essential.
