Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Lymphoedema Nurse or Physiotherapist to join our specialist service. We welcome applications from experienced Band 6 nurses or physiotherapists, as well as motivated Band 5 nurses who are keen to develop their skills and progress within this specialist area and take the next step in their career. We will provide appropriate training and support to develop the knowledge, clinical skills and confidence required to work within the service.
You will provide high-quality, patient centred care to individuals living with lymphoedema and related conditions across the local community. The role involves assessing, treating and reviewing patients, developing personalised care plans, and supporting self-management to improve independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
You will work autonomously while collaborating closely with patients, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver effective, holistic care.

Main duties of the job
The Provide CIC Lymphoedema Service provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for both primary and secondary lymphoedema.
Working as part of the specialist lymphoedema team alongside the Lymphoedema Nurse Specialist and Associate Practitioner, the post holder will provide high-quality, evidence based assessment and treatment. This will include skin care advice, manual lymphatic drainage, exercise and movement guidance, self-management education and compression therapy (multi-layer compression bandaging/hosiery/wraps) and intensive therapy options for complex cases.
The post holder will manage a clinical caseload, undertake specialist assessment and treatment and work autonomously within their scope of competence. They will provide care across a range of community settings, including patients' homes and multiple clinic locations, maintaining professional standards and continuity of care. They will demonstrate advanced clinical decision making and seek advice from the Lymphoedema Nurse Specialist when required.
A key aspect of the role is to provide advice, support and education to healthcare professionals enhancing their knowledge and skills in the recognition and management of lymphoedema. This should be in line with national guidance and best practise, supporting the consistent delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care.
