Job overview

HUC is excited to be supporting the delivery of Watford Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) from 1 September 2026 through the provision of GP staffing.

HUC delivers NHS 111 and Out of Hours (OOH) GP services to more than 4.5 million patients across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, West Essex, and the South West of England. We are proud to support the NHS by providing safe, responsive and patient-centred urgent care services.

We are seeking independent, self-employed General Practitioners to provide face-to-face GP services on a sessional basis within our Urgent Treatment Centre and Out of Hours services. Whether you are looking to accept sessions on a regular or ad hoc basis to complement your existing commitments, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Recruitment process

Once we receive your expression of interest, you'll be invited to complete our compliance process by uploading the required documentation via our Credentially platform. Following successful compliance clearance, you will be provided with access to RotaMaster, where you can view available sessions and choose those you wish to accept.

This is a self-employed sessional engagement. There is no obligation on HUC to offer sessions, and no obligation on you to accept any sessions offered. Each session is agreed separately and remunerated at the agreed sessional rate.

If you're looking for a flexible opportunity to provide urgent GP services while maintaining control over when you work, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
