We are looking for a full time Locum Consultant in Adult Spinal Surgery. The appointee will be expected to provide advice and expertise through the full range of adult spinal disorders, both elective and emergency.
The contract for this is whole time - 10 PAs.
In line with NHS guidelines on NHS Locum appointments there will be an initial term of 6 months with a further 6 months available to make a term of 12 months, for Locum Consultant in Adult Spinal Surgery . This role is required to ensure the capacity is available to meet the needs of long waiting patients. The Spinal Surgery department sits within the Specialist Directorate of RJAH.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Trust is committed to having measures in place that new consultant appointments are on a similar footing to other consultants within their department.
The Trust has the required arrangements in place to ensure that all surgeons have an annual with a trained appraiser and supports surgeons going through the revalidation process.
The appointee is expected to be responsible to the Lead Clinician and Service Manager for the effective and efficient use of resources under his/her control, to contribute to the planning and development of the service and to participate in directorate/departmental meetings.
