This Part time Locum job represents an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, dynamic Plastic Surgery Department with one of the largest and best recognised Melanoma Units in the UK, with a referral pattern both locally and nationally.
Main duties of the job
New appointee will work closely with colleagues from Dermatology, Oncology and Radiotherapy departments and be part of a truly multidisciplinary skin cancer service.
The appointee is expected to develop and undertake research in the field of skin cancer surgery, undertake teaching duties of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff as well as allied health professionals. Participation in audit and research and Trust clinical governance programme will be essential.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· work closely with the Dermatology, Oncology and Radiotherapy, in providing Melanoma and non-melanoma skins cancer.
· liaise with consultant colleagues to provide internal cover for annual and/or sick leave for on call duties; under exceptional circumstances this may require some flexibility in the appointee’s hours.
· contribute to the teaching of junior medical staff and medical students. .
· take an interest in research
· actively contribute towards quality improvement in the Plastic Surgery service
· undertake such duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the grade and the needs of the service
· act in line with GMC Good Medical Practice, including Duty of Candour
