An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Consultant Obstetric Physician to join the North Central London (NCL) multi-disciplinary Maternal Medicine Team on a fixed-term basis.
The successful post holder will be based at one of the maternity hospitals within the NCL Maternal Medicine Network - North Middlesex University Hospital.
The Role
As a Consultant in Obstetric Medicine within the NCL network, you will provide specialist care for pregnant women with medical problems in both inpatient and outpatient settings at one of the NCL partner hospitals. The role includes:
In addition, the post holder will coordinate mechanisms to provide advice and education to physicians, obstetricians, general practitioners, and other healthcare professionals across the maternal medicine network.

The post holder will work in partnership with the NCL multi-disciplinary maternal medicine team. They will be based at North Middlesex University Hospital within the NCL maternal medicine network.
This physician should have completed a pre or post CCT RCP credential in Obstetric Medicine or have undergone specific training in Obstetric Medicine within an established Obstetric medicine service.
Working as a consultant in Obstetric Medicine within the network will include caring for pregnant women with medical problems in both the in-patient and out-patient setting in North Middlesex University Hospital. This will involve multi-disciplinary antenatal and post-natal clinics, rapid access service for pregnant women with medical problems and management of maternal medicine inpatients. Additionally, liaising and coordinating patients care across the network, attending and participating in NCL MDT’s and contributing to the ongoing development of the network.
The post holder will coordinate a mechanism to provide advice and education to other physicians, obstetricians, general practitioners and other health care professionals throughout the maternal medicine network.
