Applications are invited for this Consultant post within the Neurology Department at the North Middlesex Hospital (NMUH).
The Neurology team sits within the Specialist Medicine Division at NMUH, recently joined as part of the Royal Free London Group.
We are currently a team of 6 substantive (3.3 WTE) Consultants. This post is principally designed to support delivery of General Neurology and Brain 2WW pathway capacity and Neurological inpatient referrals.
Applicants should have broad training in all aspects of Neurology. There is no general medical or on-call commitment at present. Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist
Register or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
Main duties of the job
- CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver day-to-day clinical care and leadership in Neurology outpatient clinics 1.2 Efficient completion of virtual clinics to ensure diagnostic outcomes are communicated to patients and referrers in a timely manner 1.3 Vetting referrals and responding to Advice and Guidance requests received from General Practice 1.4 Show flexibility and undertake different appropriate clinical tasks at the request of the clinical leads, as the need arises. 1.5 Complete inpatient reviews as part of a regular rota 2. RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENTS 2.1 Effective clinical management of patients referred into the Neurology service. 2.2 Clear verbal and written communication with patients regarding their care and clinical outcomes 2.3 Clear and timely responses as appropriate to patient complaints or enquiries which require clinical input 2.4 Clinical review and/or treatment advice for inpatients referred to the Neurology service 2.5 Engender a Patient First culture across the organisation ensuring high standards of patient care 2.6 To liaise with other healthcare professionals to assist in the continuity of care across primary and secondary sectors

- Full GMC registration with licence to practice
- MRCP or equivalent
