The post holders will be responsible for inpatients on ward 513, 515 and/or 516 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham plus a cohort of General Medical outliers in a Physician of the Week model and including rostered weekend ward rounds. They will also contribute to the General Internal Medicine on call rota, and an out of hours telephone Non-invasive Ventilation (NIV) on-call rota. The post holders will provide Respiratory Out-Patient Clinics plus other Direct Clinical Care as detailed in the Outline Job plan at the end of this document.
Please note that due to the changing needs of the service the post holders may be required to adopt a flexible approach together with the other consultant members of the respiratory team.
The successful candidate will join a rapidly expanding Respiratory department and will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. This post is designed to enhance respiratory in-patient and out-patient services. Applicants with a particular interest in Pulmonary Infection, Asthma, Sleep, Pleural diseases, and Interstitial Lung Disease are particularly encouraged to apply.
