Radiology Services is seeking to appoint a new full time (10 PA) Locum Consultant. The post is for 12 months and is required to fill temporary vacancies and to meet increasing demand for our services.
Main duties of the job
The post will be based at Guy’s and St. Thomas’. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service.
The post is primarily to cover general radiology, however, an interest in oncology imaging is welcome, and other subspecialty interests would be considered, particularly within breast or gastrointestinal imaging. It is expected that the post holder will be involved in the full range of adult diagnostic radiology and have experience in acute imaging. The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to oncology multidisciplinary team meetings.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Your job plan is anticipated to contain 10 Programmed Activities per week on average to be carried out on Guy’s & St Thomas’ sites and includes on-call commitments. As a department we are open to flexible working patterns which suit the Department and individual needs with agreement with the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead.
Remote Home Reporting solution has been deployed to the radiologists across all subspecialties. A proposed job plan is provided below, and the post holder will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan, including personal and professional objectives, with the Clinical Director within 3 months of starting.
As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This means that some staff groups will increasingly be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer services in the evenings or at weekends. It is stressed that as part of the Directorate’s move to extended working that the post holder may be asked to include weekend sessions as part of their regular job plan.
