Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in Hepatology at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This offers the opportunity to join a cohesive and progressive gastroenterology and hepatology department which has an excellent track record in clinical service delivery, research, teaching & training.

With a retirement from the team we are looking for a successful applicant to work alongside our team of 2 hepatologists, a GPwER, 3 specialist nurses and a dietitian to maintain our well regarded Hepatology service. The post holder is expected to have broad experience of gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy, contributing to the core Gastroenterology elective and emergency service but with special emphasis on delivering hepatology services.

Main duties of the job

The post would be well suited to a dedicated Hepatologist or a Gastroenterologist with an interest in Hepatology. The successful applicant will join a broader team of 11 WTE gastroenterologists fully supported by specialist nurses and advanced diagnostic services. The Hepatology team also maintain close links with the Leeds liver transplant unit. They will participate in a 1 in 11 category A out of hours GI bleed on call rota.

The department offers Complex IBD, Nutrition, Hepatology and hepato-biliary expertise in addition to advanced therapeutic endoscopic services and a bowel cancer screening service. The applicant will have the opportunity to further develop a special interest alongside our existing team.
