Main duties of the job

The service provides daily General Paediatric outpatient clinics, inpatient acute care, and an established Consultant of the Week model, with responsibility for all admitted patients during in‑hours. An out‑of‑hours on‑call service ensures continuity of high‑quality care at all times.

The service is led by Dr Lucy Hinds, Team Leader for General Paediatrics, with regular Consultant meetings supporting collaborative working, service development, and clinical governance.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering excellent, high‑quality outpatient and inpatient care to the local population
  • Ensuring care is accessible, responsive, and patient‑centred
  • Maintaining the highest clinical standards across all areas of general paediatric practice
  • Providing care that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of children and their families
