Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust wish to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and cheerful Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant to join their multidisciplinary team. The Homerton Hospital has an excellent reputation on social media with junior doctors attracting the highest calibre of trainee, and high-quality consultants.
This recruitment is part of the Trust's planned expansion of the diabetes antenatal clinic and other outpatient activities . We are looking for forward-thinking individuals to help us continue to deliver a high standard service and develop it further. The role initially comprises of 10 programmed activities (PAs) consisting of inpatient and outpatient duties with on call commitments . The postholder will be involved in the development of the service, and as a result their job plan, over time.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide specialist inpatient and outpatient expertise in Endocrinology and Diabetes.
On taking up the post this consultant will take part in 4 outpatient clinics each week in addition to antenatal clinics and inpatient general medicine work. The post holder may be expected to participate in the general medicine rota initially 1:15. Acute medicine is provided by 15 General Physicians.
The trust sees the role developing over time to suit the special interests of the successful candidate.
