We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Locum Consultant in Gynaecology to join our dynamic and supportive Women’s and Children’s Service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and contributing to the continued development of our Gynaecology services.

As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide a broad range of gynaecological care across elective and emergency gynaecology, GOPD and Ambulatory Care. There will also be opportunities to develop special interest sessions aligned with service needs and your clinical interests and aspirations.

You will work collaboratively across the Elective Treatment Centre, theatres and outpatient services to deliver safe, effective and well-coordinated pathways of care and an excellent experience for women and their families.

The role also offers opportunities to contribute to clinical governance, audit, teaching, and the supervision and development of junior doctors and wider clinical colleagues.

Hours per week: 8 PA's

Main duties of the job

Gynaecological services include Urogynaecology, Colposcopy, Early Pregnancy, and Emergency Gynaecological services. Benign Gynaecological operative and laparoscopic services along with Infertility services (except IVF) are provided at Macclesfield Hospital. Cancer services include diagnostic work up and early endometrial cancers being operated at Macclesfield hospital. The service is linked with the Southern sector Manchester Cancer network with weekly MDT meetings.

Essential

  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC and holding a licence to practice at time of appointment
  • Evidence of work in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice

Qualifications

Essential

  • Full GMC (General Medical Council) registration
  • MRCOG (Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) or appropriate specialist qualification

Desirable

  • ATSM in Gynaeconcology surgery

Fitness To Practise

Essential

  • Applicant’s knowledge is up to date and fit to practise safely
