Job overview

We are looking to appoint to a Whole-Time Locum Consultant Gynaecologist with a subspecialist interest in Gynaecological Oncology to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at the Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. This is a fixed term post for 12 months.

We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will, together with Consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of a Comprehensive Gynaecological Oncology Service. They will be required to cover for colleagues during periods of absence and will have continuing responsibility for patients in Their care and the proper functioning of the department.

The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.
