Job overview

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking to recruit at Trust FY2 equivalent grade in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service from This role is a Fixed Term 12 month Contract. This post is based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, but may require from cross site working at Wycombe and Amersham Hospitals.

The commitments will consist of daily ward rounds and inpatient care within the Acute Team which are led and managed by an Acute Consultant. The Acute wards are also supported at weekends by a variety of grades and are in additional to the on-call team.

The post holder will also participate in the FY2 on call rota working on calls including weekends (1 in 4 weekend frequency) and nights. This post will provide an excellent grounding to enable progression for medical careers. Applicants MUST hold a FULL GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice in the UK. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to support the consultant led EMRU and AMU Team. This is a great opportunity to treat medical emergency patients in an outpatient setting. The role will include virtual ward rounds, clerking and treating patients including follow ups. There will be a close interaction with the nursing staff.

Workload will be shared amongst the junior team who are distributed within the Acute Team.

The post holder will be expected to prioritise and time-manage effectively according to the activity of the department and to utilise appropriately the available senior staff for advice.

The post holder will take part in the medical on call rota to support the acute medical take, working with the Medical Registrars, FY1 and Physician of the Day (POD).

The successful candidates are expected to help with the smooth running of the team and with the setting up of regular audit & clinical governance work.
