The Head of Workforce Information and Analytics will lead the Workforce Informatics Team in delivering a high-quality, proactive workforce intelligence and systems service to the Trust and its stakeholders. The post holder will provide expert leadership in the provision, analysis and interpretation of complex workforce and pay-related data, playing a key role in strengthening the Trust’s capability to plan for current and future workforce requirements.
The post holder will critically analyse workforce and pay data from multiple internal and external sources to produce a wide range of reports for Trust Groups, Committees, the Board, Trust Managers and external bodies. A key aspect of the role is the transformation of raw data into meaningful, high-quality management information through robust analysis and the development of reports that meet user and organisational needs.
This role will have responsibility for several workforce information systems and for the production, integration and assurance of data from these and other corporate systems. The post holder will work closely with colleagues across HR & Organisational Development, Finance, Information Services and Digital to ensure workforce systems and data are accurate, secure and well-governed, and will lead the development and implementation of existing and new workforce information systems.
Main duties of the job
- Analyse workforce data (quantitative and qualitative) to identify opportunities for transformation, productivity improvement, and service redesign.
- Support service redesign, skill mix, and establishment reviews using benchmarking data and workforce intelligence.
- Ensure workforce planning is timely and effective, aligning recruitment to service needs and monitoring temporary workforce usage.
- Promote succession planning and maintain effective vacancy management across divisions.
- Collaborate with recruitment leads to implement targeted recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Ensure workforce establishments are accurate and reconciled across workforce, finance, and rostering systems.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret workforce and HR data to support strategic decision-making and operational delivery.
- Produce complex workforce reports and dashboards using ESR, QlikView/Qlik Sense, Power BI, and other systems.
- Improve workforce information processes for efficiency, accuracy, and usability, promoting automation and self-service reporting.
- Provide specialist workforce intelligence advice internally and externally.
- Lead establishment control and ESR data quality processes across the Trust.
- Ensure statutory and central returns are completed accurately and on time.
- Translate complex data into clear insights for a range of stakeholders.
