The role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, supportive and forward‑thinking Community Dietetic Team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. We currently have a part-time post available and are looking for enthusiastic, motivated dietitian to join the South Clyde Community Dietetic Service, delivering high-quality, evidence‑based care to adults with learning disabilities and general community.
The postholder will work across the South Clyde Quadrant, providing a specialist dietetic service to people with learning disabilities and their carers within the Inverclyde area whilst also supporting work of the general community team in a variety of settings, including:
- Individuals’ own homes
- Supported accommodation
- Resource centres
- Community clinics
You will work closely with medical, nursing and AHP colleagues, contributing to a person-centred, multidisciplinary approach to care.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Ferguslie Clinic, Inverclyde
- Three days out of seven
- Part-time, permanent
- Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours
Key responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering an evidence-based dietetic service in line with national and local priorities
- Providing specialist input to people with learning disabilities, their carers and support staff
- Working in partnership with other professionals to meet complex nutritional needs
- Supervision, teaching and mentoring of student dietitians, dietetic assistants/support workers and clerical staff
- Planning and delivering education and training for healthcare professionals, covering broad nutritional topics across the life course
- Supporting local health improvement activity
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- BSc in Human Nutrition & Dietetics (or equivalent)
- HCPC registration
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to person‑centred, inclusive care
