At Active Neuro, were transforming neurorehabilitation in the UK and were looking for an exceptional Lead Speech and Language Therapist to help drive that change. Based at Hunters Moor in Birmingham, you'll take a leading role in a collaborative, highly specialist team dedicated to helping people rebuild their communication, swallowing, and cognitive-communication skills following brain injury or neurological illness.

Job responsibilities
The Role:
Our standard working hours are 37.5 per week, typically worked Monday to Friday. As the service continues to develop, there will be an expectation to transition to a 7-day working model.
We recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy work–life balance, so if you require flexibility to suit your personal or professional commitments, we encourage an open conversation—we’ll always aim to accommodate individual needs wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver highly specialist SLT assessment and intervention for clients with complex physical, cognitive, communication and behavioural difficulties following neurological injury or illness
- Lead on the development and delivery of evidence-based therapy programmes, working collaboratively with the wider MDT to achieve the best outcomes for patients
- Independently plan, deliver and evaluate communication therapy groups, ensuring practice is innovative and patient-centred
- Uphold and model the highest standards of clinical care, ensuring practice reflects current national guidance and best practice
- Take responsibility as Key Worker where appropriate, driving joined-up goal-setting, therapy planning and discharge coordination
- Provide professional leadership, supervision and mentorship to junior SLTs and assistants, supporting their clinical development in line with ACG policy
- Take an active role in the induction, education and training of interdisciplinary team members
- Ensure compliance with professional codes of practice, governance frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to service development, policy implementation and quality improvement initiatives within SLT and across the wider therapy service
- Take responsibility for safeguarding within your practice — ensuring people are protected from harm, empowered to have a voice, and that their human rights are always upheld
