Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts is delighted to advertise a Lead Practitioner position within the Anaesthetic dept.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment within the Operating Services/Theatre team. You will provide strong clinical leadership to the team and directorate and will assist the Executive team to build relationships across patient pathways and work closely with our partners in Surgical Care Groups to provide high quality patient care.
You will promote a culture where the patient comes first. You will lead by example, challenge our usual practices and be proactive in seeking opportunities for continuously improving high quality care. The role will support the Matron in providing a quality service to all its user and deliver the broad objectives of the clinical teams.
Main duties of the job
- To provide positive team leadership, ensuring a high standard of patient care is delivered in a safe, professional environment.
- The post holder is responsible for planning the development of the team and for the operational management of staff within a defined team, including appraisals, rotas, recruitment and selection and the supervision of students.
- The post holder’s duties would reflect a 60% clinical and 40% managerial commitment.
