As a Lead MRI Radiographer, you will manage a team of MR radiographers, ensuring high clinical standards and excellent customer service. You will be the MR Responsible Person, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining local rules, and overseeing staff training and service development.
At Duchy Hospital, we value professional development. Experience in Cardiac and Breast MRI, as well as Siemens MRI equipment, is highly desirable. The service operates 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with potential for longer hours and weekends as it expands. There is a small on-call commitment of two consecutive nights per month, shared among the team. We seek an experienced, motivated radiographer eager to enhance supervisory and clinical skills.
Minimum 2 years of MRI experience is essential. The candidate must participate in the extended evening and weekend MRI service. Supporting the general X-ray department is advantageous.
The role includes mentoring junior staff, training students, and managing workload and patient queries.

- Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging.
- Proficiently use all equipment.
- Supervise junior colleagues.
- Ensure MRI safety per local rules.
- Work within national guidance and HCPC code of conduct.
- Participate in audits and Quality Assurance.
- Report equipment faults per Ramsay policy.
- IV cannulation competency required.
- Maintain records per statutory requirements.
- Participate in on-call rota (30 min response).
Location: Duchy Hospital, Cornwall's only private hospital, known for high-quality healthcare.
Requirements:
- BSc in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent).
- 2+ years MRI experience (Cardiac, Gynae, etc.).
- Empathetic approach to patients and colleagues.
- Proactive work attitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
